More Alicia

I had a second session with Alicia today. We did some super hot naked belly pics and then went out on a picture adventure. I am only posting one not-so-revealing belly shot, but trust me there were lots of great ones. We did some sultry shots in white on a white bed, and several awesome black and whites. I loved our session! Alicia was so willing to go with the flow. I love it when people flow with my somewhat crazy ideas to get a good shot.

We literally pulled over on the side of the road to get this. I have eyed this old house for a long time and wanted to figure out a way to use it. The gravel drive framed in tall grass was perfect today. For some reason this seemed right--a rustic old house behind a beautiful young lady full of new life.

I am in love with the tall grass these days.

Check out those amazing blue eyes!

Is she not glowing?

Oh those eyes! Beautiful!

Thank you Alicia! I had fun today!!

Hunter...and mom and dad too!

I got to see sweet Hunter again! This time his mom and dad joined in for family photos. They are going to welcome their second little man into the world this summer. I know they are thrilled. I look forward to meeting him. If he's as outgoing and gorgeous as his big brother, this mom and dad are going to have their hands full. I think they are a beautiful family full of love and I think you'll agree after seeing their photos.

At one point Hunter sat down on the stairs and we had a little conversation, he and I. We talked about trains and planes mostly. He showed so many different expressions during this little exchange. It was hilarious! I could have sat right there all day snapping photos. I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's the unplanned moments that are always the best.

Alicia and Zac

Holy glowing mama! Have you seen a hotter soon to be mama? She puts a whole new meaning behind glowing. This is one of my close friends Alicia, her husband Zac, and Reagan. They are expecting baby Reagan in June. Everyone is anxiously awaiting her arrival! I'm not sure if there was ever a question if we would take maternity photos of Alicia, but rather a matter of when. I was excited that Zac wanted to participate. I think bringing daddies into the sessions adds a whole new level of sweetness. Daddies and babies are precious. We had a quick session Saturday afternoon before a very fun couples' shower. Here are a few of my favorites.

Baby belly and hand holding.

Look at the way he looks at her. So sweet.

There's no doubt this baby girl will be surrounded in love.

So cute!

Not everyone can pull off a gorgeous serious look and smiles. Alicia and Zac, you can! You're gorge!

Is this a Crest commerical? :D Seriously. These are beautiful smiles. Zac, you're looking fierce here, buddy!

Zac and Alicia, you are a beautiful couple and I can only imagine how amazing Reagan will be. I look forward to meeting her. Thank you for letting me be a part of her preparations and arrival.

The chick behind the lens...

A couple of weeks ago Lantis and I hopped on my in-laws' golf cart and went for a little drive through the country side. They live in a gorgeous area. Its an old area on the outskirts of our little town where theres a lot of "family land". Its rare when anything goes on the market and its a coveted place to be. Most of the houses sit on several acres and there are farm animals here and there. Nature and wildlife are abundant. We love it down there and if we ever had the opportunity to live there, we would jump on it!

I had my cameras...of course, in hopes that we'd see something worth shooting. Turns out nature was restful that afternoon so I became the subject. This is a rare opportunity. Lantis is a wonderful photographer. He's working with me on some events that I have coming up and I'm stoked about it. Can't wait to show off our teamwork.

I think this where the photo battle began...I'm shooting you shooting.

pics of me?

ok you win. Since I hate attention. ;)

I look like a tiger ready to pounce! Grrr.

I turned over the big camera...

I love, love the tall grass.

I was probably looking to see if they were about to boot us out of their field. We literally hopped a fence to get these shots.

Thank you Lantis, for an impromtu photo shoot that will help me remember. Help me never forget the good and simple things: Sunday afternoons, beautiful spring weather, the beauty in nature that surrounds us, a breezy golf cart ride in comfortable silence, hopping a fence to get in that field for my crazy-must-have-standing-in-tall-grass-photos, my excitement and passion for photography, and your never ending support to follow my dreams.

Fortune Cookie

The other night my hubby and I went to one of our favorite Japanese restaurants and were given the typical fortune cookie after our meal. I rarely accept or eat the fortune cookie, but just look over my Lantis' shoulder as he dives into his. If I do take the cookie I'll read the line and then toss it onto my plate of mostly eaten food without another thought. This night I was in the mood for it. I cracked my cookie and this is what I read: "Use your abilities at this time to stay focused on your goal. You will succed."

Was that little Asian guy reading my mind when he handed that cookie to me? I have never been as focused and goal driven in my life as I am right this minute. There are days that are frustrating and people can be absolutely heartbreaking, but the bottom line is: I'm focused on my goal. I will succed.

I know, I know, it's just a simple piece of paper baked into a cookie that thousands of people across America receive daily with the purchase of an egg roll. Its meaningless. However, this one was incredibly coincidental. A perfect little reminder that I'm on the right track.

Miss Amanda...but not for long

I had a photo session with Miss Amanda last Saturday. However, she won't be Miss for long! She is a beautiful bride. I was very flattered when someone asked if we were twins. Hehe! No really. Someone asked that. I am not posting any of our fabulous photos because I want to keep this stunning bride a surprise until wedding day. Here's a little teaser that doesn't reveal the beautiful gown. I am honored to be her photographer on the big day which is quickly approaching. I'm looking forward to all the gorgeous photos we're going to have! I can't wait to share it all.

The New Lens Envy!!!

I'm am absolutely thrilled to share Lens Envy's fresh new look. I have wanted a new logo for a long time, but just kept putting it off. Finally I decided I can't wait any longer. I needed another creative person to help me put out. A dear friend put me in touch with a very talented graphic designer. She came up with this amazing new image for me. She is a pleasure to work with. Thanks Rachel, for the contact and many thanks to Angela for the new look you have given Lens Envy. I'm beyond excited!

I've changed my website and blog. Now its time for new business cards and marketing material. Looking forward to it!! :) I hope everyone loves it as much as I do!

Cooper's First Birthday

Check out these eyelashes!?!

I had the honor of taking photos at Cooper's first birthday. I was delighted when Cooper's mom asked me to be there. They have the sweetest little family! I really felt like part of the family for the two hours I was there. They are such a warm and welcoming group. I caught myself in conversation with family members several times and I had to pull in the reins..."ok. Whoa Erin, they just met you and you're here to take photos!" I have a tendency to be slightly talkative, outgoing, and I forget that I just met you. :-/ Somewhere in my head I've known you for years. I apologize to Cooper's sweet family if I came in a little too hot. Its your fault for being so stinkin' sweet! Ha! They even shared a hot dog with me. They knew the way into my heart. You know you put me around food and I can't resist. Its not often I get to eat behind the lens, but I love it when I do.

Anywhoo...Cooper and his brothers are dolls. I had a blast celebrating with them and I can't wait to see them again this summer.

Who's birthday is next!? I wanna be there!! :)

The cleanest cake smashing I've ever seen!

Sweethearts!

The Wright Brothers

Ok I just couldn't resist that title. :) I'm a hopeless nerd who loves history with a dad and hubby who love aviation. Anywhoo...

These guys are the sweetest boys. I had a session with them back in the fall and I couldn't wait to see them again. They are laid back, very well behaved guys. In addition to that, the camera loves them! I look forward to seeing them again soon!
